icantWEcan is the motto we follow here at in2Action, and we believe that the social model of recovery is the most realistic route to success. The social model is based on living life together through building healthy, transparent, and meaningful relationships.

This year has been a very exciting time with many activities here at in2Action. A lot of our guys come to us from prison never having had the opportunity to experience many of the things that we do here monthly. This year has been filled with memorable life-changing experiences such as zip-lining at Caveman Ziplines, nature hikes, and barbecues at parks throughout the state, recovery conventions, the NA Huzzah Valley float trip, which is a favorite, to our annual in2Action Current River float trip/retreat. We’ve attended Cardinal’s and Tiger’s games and had competitions among ourselves with the In2action/ROC recovery games and competed against the Fresh Start program in our inaugural softball tournament. We finished the activities out this year with a trip to Branson’s Sight and Sound Theater to watch the live production of Jesus followed by a meal at The Hill restaurant in Springfield. We did the team challenge at Mizzou’s high ropes course and had our in2Action Christmas party which is held at The Crossing Church. We’ll finish out the year with a secret Santa gift event on Christmas morning.

Recovery is possible and community makes it happen. Building relationships through shared experiences, both pleasant and unpleasant, holding each other accountable is where the magic happens. We look forward to more activities next year.
