Dorn Schuffman – Board President
Shortly after completing a graduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Missouri, Dorn, surprisingly, found himself embarking on a 30-year career with the Missouri Department of Mental Health where he served in a variety of roles, including five years as Director of the Department. Today, Dorn serves with a national organization providing consultation to other state behavioral health departments and community behavioral health organizations. He and his wife, Marcella, have two adult children and three grandchildren.
“I had heard Dan give his testimony at our church, so I was not surprised when he contacted me to inquire about what in2Action would need to do to be certified by the Department of Mental Health to provide substance use disorder counseling services. That first contact led to a number of opportunities to be engaged with the men of In-2-Action, including involvement in planning for the ROC, and a monthly dinner in our home with several of the men. Marcella and I realized how blessed we are to be able serve at in2Action when we found spending Thanksgiving Day and Christmas morning with the men to be among the most meaningful holidays we have had in many years.”

Pat Concannon – Board Vice President
Pat Concannon moved to Columbia, MO in 1970 after serving four years in the United States Air Force. He began his career in IT as a Programmer at Shelter Insurance and retired from there in 2010. Since his retirement, Pat has been involved with the Recovery Ministry at Woodcrest Chapel, Prison Ministry at Algoa Correctional Center, Phoenix Programs, Love Columbia and in2Action, where he volunteers and serves as a board member.
“Getting involved with in2Action is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in life. Interactions and fellowship with the men is something I look forward to each week. Seeing them turn their lives around and grow as men and as followers of Christ is a blessing. It is a privilege to be part of such an important and life changing organization.”

Heather Hargrove – Board Secretary
Heather grew up in Trenton, Missouri. She attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO for a year and half before transferring to the University of Missouri. After graduation in 1989, she never left Columbia and her entire family has also moved to Columbia. Heather spent 25 years in the hospitality industry with the last 10 as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Executive Center and the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center. In September 2020, Heather chose a role with Liberty Family Medicine as the Business Development Manager.
“I met Dan through my IMPACT Rotary club. I was completely entranced in the story Dan shared. I didn’t know until the end that he was sharing a very personal story… his own and the beginnings of in2Action. From that moment, the only question was, “how can I help?” It started with a monthly dinner, sharing in fellowship with the men at in2Action. This dinner has grown in attendance and fulfillment. That same year we started providing Christmas for the residents and spending Christmas morning with them. These are powerful, life-changing interactions and developing friendships. I can only hope the men of in2Action receive as much from me as I do from them.”

Nathan Rages – Board Treasurer
Nathan Rages graduated from Truman State University in 1995 with a degree in Accounting. He spent 16 years working as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner in a St. Louis CPA firm. Following a career change in 2012, he now serves as pastor of Redeeming Grace Church in Columbia, MO. He is happily married to Lorri, and they have two adult children. His interests include reading, home repair, and travel.
“I first learned about Dan Hanneken and in2Action in 2016 after our church became involved in inmate ministry at the Boone County Jail and in the Missouri Department of Corrections. I was already seeing inmates’ difficulty transitioning successfully into the community and the need for a Christ-centered support ministry. I joined the in2Action board in 2017 to assist primarily with accounting and finance issues. I am pleased with the organization’s growth and financial stability, but am particularly delighted to see people receive life-changing help.”

Doreen Dabney – Board Member
Doreen worked in the corporate sector for 35 years. She worked for the largest printing ink company in the world. She left corporate life to attend Loyola University, Chicago, where she earned a Master of Divinity in 2009. She then became a certified Pastoral Associate for the Archdiocese of Chicago for 10 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Missouri to be nearer to family. She has two children.
“While working for the Catholic churches in Chicago I moved toward the social justice aspect of pastoring. I came across many people who needed help. When I retired and moved to Jefferson City I was advised to contact the prisons for volunteer opportunities. I volunteered at Algoa four days a week for two years. I helped the inmates study for the NCRC test and taught classes. When we moved to Columbia, Missouri I learned about in2Action. I am privileged to be the Resident Advocate at in2Action. I help the program participants work with various agencies and give them advice. I speak truth to them when they need it and I’m there for them in good times and in bad. It is such a blessing for me to serve here. The gentlemen have taught me a different kind of courage. They have shown me how to be more generous and have helped me expand my heart to both give and receive more love.”
